In 2010, Justin Bieber was the new and rising teen sensation. He was marketed towards young preteen and teen girls (age 9-13), meaning his image had to be clean, innocent and parent-friendly. 
For example, the concept of his music video Baby had a wholesome view of romance and included a diverse cast.
